Surveillance in own home?
I just got into foster care and being faced with allegations. So I just wanted to know if whether or not it is illegal to have audio and video surveillance in my home. Not to spy but to justify what is going on in my own home. I understand that it is illegal to have video in places such as the bedroom and bathroom. But is it illegal to have audio of the child in such places. And would they have to be aware of the audio recording in order not to be sued by parents.
P.s I live in Arizona
You have rights and if it is YOUR home, you can use the surveillance equipment.
However, you wont be able to use it in court unless the other parties are aware the camera is taping them.
