good parenting techniques

Are there any good sleeping techniques?
I have a really hard to sleeping. It’s very embarrassing, but I’m afraid of being alone. I sleep with my night light on, my door is always opened, and my parents are often in the living room across the hall. I tried to help myself go to sleep by bringing my cat with me, but she runs away, stuffed animals don’t work for me. Pills or relaxing tea doesn’t help me either. I’m mainly scared because I think about all the horror movies, even the littlest and silliest part in a scary movie freak me out. Please help me, it has been a major issue for me. I’d really appreciate any advice, the most effective one will get rewarded.
I don’t watch horror movies before I go to bed, I’ve seen one when I was about 7, and I sometimes see parts of them. Horror commercials also scare me. I know their not real, but I’m still freaked out.
Well, making sure that you don’t eat too much, or too little, too greasy, and what not will make you fall asleep easier. Try drinking decaffeinated calming teas such as chamomile or other herbal teas. (I fall asleep easier with noise, so i have a radio that i turn on). You could have calming sounds such as water, rain, i don’t know, whatever makes you feel safe and calm. You could try meditating, or doing yoga before you head off to bed, and try to clear your mind of any stress before you sleep. if this is really bothering you, go to a doctor for a check, might not be anything serious, but it might help, you’ll never know.
hope i helped
