How do you feel about attachment parenting?
i believe in it wholeheartedly. it infuriates me that we still consider ‘styles’ of parenting in the same vain as choosing which type of shoes you prefer. the evidence to support AP is astounding and it blows my mind that people think that raising children without secure attachment is acceptable. there are certainly variations that play out in how each family lives, but our world will only become sustainable, peaceful, humane when it becomes common practice to respond consistently and lovingly to our children’s deepest needs. that means 1. sleeping together (no baby should EVER be left alone) 2. extended nursing 3. being physically close 24/7 for at least first 18 months 4. feeding on request, without schedules
this is a better way to parent and i am blessed to work with people willing to embrace this reality.
