Getting a license plate for a recently bought used car in Michigan?
I am buying a used car here in Michigan from an individual but plan to move to Tennessee next week to go to college. Can I get Michigan plates and use them in Tennessee, or will I have to get Tennessee license plates when I move down there? If so, then can I just get a temporary Michigan license plate or something? I am an older adult, single, and living with my sister here in Michigan. Both of my parents are dead.
Do you plan to move to Tennessee and stay there? Or are you going back to Michigan after school? Are you paying out of state tuition? If so you are a resident of MI who happens to be going to school in TN.
Get a plate where ever you consider yourself a resident.
